I came to UF unsure how I was going to fit in, what I wanted from college, or how God was going to play into that picture. Call it what you may but Divine intervention brought me from a simple Frisbee game freshman year to the first Catholic Gator's blast off week event of "Praise and Worship on Campus". Immediately, I felt that this community was just what I needed: welcoming, energetic, caring, and seeking the Lord with their whole hearts. Since then, I have grown as a woman and as a Catholic, directly and indirectly, because of this community and its people. It will be the place I miss the most when I graduate in May and a place that will always be my home.
Hobbies: Volleyball, Getting really good deals on previously expensive things, Cooking, Basketball, Wakeboarding, Traveling, eating Sour Patch watermelons, and of course... spending time with Jesus!

I got involved with the Catholic Gators by participating in some of the Blast-Off Week events my freshman year. I found a home at St. Augustine's and I kept getting involved. The Lord has blessed me so much here and He has led me to places I never thought I could go. I am so grateful to the Catholic Gators community for the fellowship they have provided for me the past two years. I certainly have a second home here and I have grown so much in my Catholic faith because of my family here. I am honored to be "giving back" and serving the community this year.
I enjoy reading, writing, baking, watching movies, attending Mass, and spending time with family and friends.

I was quickly plugged in to the St. Augustine community upon starting my education at UF. I had a wonderful group of people that helped me grow in my faith back in Melbourne, several of whom came to UF as well, and they told me CSF is Monday, Newman is Tuesday, and Pro Life Alliance is Thursday, and the rest is history. I've found a home away from home here in Gainesville, due mostly to the outreach and support of the St. A's community, and I'm overjoyed to have the opportunity to share that with others.
A typical day in the life of Alex Armstrong (typical really meaning an ideal day in which school work doesn't so inconveniently interfere) includes playing frisbee golf, football and ultimate frisbee, watching several cycles of sportscenter, attending Mass as often as possible, re-watching movies that I haven't memorized every line from yet, and reading a good book (especially ones that give me a fresh perspective on the Catholic faith)

I first got involved with Catholic Gators during Blast off Week my freshman year. I felt such love from this community that I just had to come back. God has really blessed me with wonderful friends and a home here at St. A’s. My faith and my relationship with Christ have exploded thanks to the Alpha and F.I.R.E. retreats, CSF, and FOCUS.
I love running, swimming, anatomy, nature trails, singing in the car, Disney movies, volunteering with intellectually disabled teens, and hanging out with my friends and family. I also enjoy making new friends, so if I don’t know you, I would love to meet you!

When making a decision about what University to attend as a freshman one of the most important things to me was a strong Catholic Community on campus. I felt very called to and welcome in the St. Augustine's Community and definitely made the right decision. The family of St. Augustine's is what got me through my first year and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve them this year.
After graduating I would like to do missionary work, especially in youth ministry. I am passionate about my faith and love music as a way of praising Our Lord! I look to Momma Mary for guidance as she is always pointing our hearts toward her Son!
