What criterion must I fulfill to be confirmed?

  • Begin with an interview with Tom Rinkoski, Director of Faith Formation, at St. Augustine. You can schedule an interview at a mutually agreeable time by contacting him at tomrinkoski@yahoo.com, or by phone at (352) 372-3533, ext. 152.

  • By November 1, 2010, submit name of person you choose as your Confirmation Sponsor. Information on choosing the best sponsor for you is available at the following link  on the tab bar to the left.
  • By December 1, 2010, provide a copy of your Baptism Certificate.  This usually takes time so start as soon as possible.
  • By December 7, 2010, have submitted all reports due for the Reading Period.
  • By March 1, 2011, complete service project and hand in report to Tom.  More information on the Service project can be downloaded below.
  • By March 1, 2011, present a personal letter to our Bishop written according to the specifications provided.

How often are the meetings?

You can download the complete schedule of meetings for this Confirmation program by following th link on the bar to the left.

Another Option to consider...

In addition to this program there is also the RCIA, which you can learn more about by contacting Connie Fitzgerald at ccombok@aol.com.  The RCIA would be an excellent program if you feel you have minimal to no background in the Roman Catholic faith, or have not attended Mass in a long time.  As opposed to the RCIA, this Confirmation Program is designed for adults who have been Baptized in the Catholic Church, received First Communion, and who are participating in Sunday Mass, but somewhere along the line did not receive Confirmation.

Is there a fee for the Confirmation Program?

Access to the sacraments is a fundamental right of all Catholics; therefore, there is no mandated fee for the program.  Costs are covered by your donations to the regular collections on Sundays.
